When I sat down at my computer this evening I put the TV on. The John Travolta movie, A Civil Action came on. The song that opens up the movie sounds like a version of Bo Diddley's I'm A Man, and is sung by a voice that sounds a lot like C. Beefheart. I looked it up on Amazon- it IS Captain Beefheart! They recycled the song Hard Workin' Man from the soundtrack of the movie Blue Collar. I didn't know that! That must've been pretty good for him- to be on a song leading off the soundtrack to a John Travolta movie... On Amazon a reviewer complains that the Beefheart song is not included on the soundtrack album.

Does anyone else have examples of Beefheart being re-packaged in a mass-market pop-culture context?
